Privacy

Vocaira asks you to speak out loud, so it owes you a straight answer about what happens to what you said. This page is that answer, in plain language.

What happens to your voice

During a session your microphone audio is sent to our speech providers so it can be turned into text, and so a copy of your voice can be made and used to speak your own reasoning back to you. You are asked to agree to this before the microphone is ever switched on, and you can decline and type instead.

The voice copy exists for your session and for the short audio echo saved with it. It is not a permanent biometric profile, it is not shared with anyone else, and we do not sell voice data or use your audio to train a general-purpose voice or language model.

What we store

A written record of the session: the transcript fragments Vocaira kept, your decision card, the closing line and question, and the short summary used to write your email. If you gave an email address, it is stored with that session so we can send your card and, if the session stayed open, one follow-up.

If you signed in, we store your account email and the sessions attached to it, so you can return to the same thread.

Audio echoes: a short recording of the closing moment, kept so you can play it back from your return link.

If you submit a testimonial, we store the words you wrote, your rating, and the attribution you chose.

Payments

If you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Card details are entered with Stripe and never reach Vocaira's servers. We store only the subscription's status, plan, period dates, and the processor's customer and subscription identifiers, so we know whether your access is active.

What we do not store

We do not keep a continuous recording of the whole session, and we never store card numbers or bank details.

How long we keep it

Session records and audio echoes are kept while your account is active, so your memory and return links keep working. Ask us to delete yours and we delete it — see below. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Who else is involved

Vocaira relies on third-party services to run: hosting and database, speech-to-text and voice synthesis, a language model provider, an email delivery service, and Stripe for payments. They process your data on our behalf in order to provide those functions.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to voice cloning — after which Vocaira will only be available to you as text. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local privacy law; write to us and we will honour them.

Vocaira is for adults. Please don't use it if you are under 16.

Beta, stated honestly

Vocaira is in active beta and is not yet running on the hardened, private infrastructure we intend to ship. Until it is, please hold back anything highly sensitive or confidential — medical, legal, financial, or anything you would not want stored in an ordinary cloud service.

Email

Your decision card and follow-up emails are transactional: they exist because you asked for one by giving your address at the end of a session. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops all future email to that address.

Deleting your data

Write to info@vocaira.com from the address you used, or name the session, and we will delete the session record, transcript, decision cards, audio echo, and voice copy. A person handles this by hand, usually within a few days.
